Dear Community Participant,
Vancouver Wildlife League is an association of outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, fishers and conservationists. Our group was founded in 1929 and is one of the oldest sports clubs in the State of Washington. In 1991 and again in 2010, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife awarded our group, Sports Club of the Year for our volunteerism with youth activities and habitat restoration projects. We are proud of our long history of passing on to the next generation the experiences, we as a group, have enjoyed so much.
Vancouver Wildlife League’s current activities include the pheasant release project in cooperation with the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Annually, we release around 4,500 Chinese pheasants at appropriate sites for hunters in Southwest Washington. Also, we sponsor and fund a youth pheasant hunt at the Vancouver Lake lowlands release sites. In April of each year, Vancouver Wildlife League, along with other groups, raises money and organizes perhaps the state’s largest fish-in at Klineline Pond near Salmon Creek. Last year, 1,500 elementary age youngsters participated in the event. Club members roll up their sleeves and help the kids learn to fish. Another big club project the Special Need Kids Annual Fishing Event at the Merwin Hatchery every July.
In May of each year, Vancouver Wildlife League holds its Annual Dinner and Fundraiser. All money raised will be earmarked for youth activities and habitat restoration. We would appreciate the donation of products, services or gift certificates from your business for a raffle prize or an auction item. We would like to thank you in advance for your support.
